They have thousands of successes in their industry and lead the standards with evidence based treatment coupled with experience in treating thousands who suffer with substance abuse. Ed Walsh
HR | UR Director
Ed Walsh completed his addiction treatment certification at The Academy for Addiction Professionals in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He is currently a Certified Addiction Counselor, filling UR liaison, case coordinator, and discharge specialist at The Retreat of Atlanta. Mr. Walsh has many years of experience in addiction, including marketing, treating and coordinating services for those affected by substance abuse and mental illness. Mr. Walsh brings compassion, patience, knowledge, and firsthand experience to his work. He has helped many to achieve and maintain successful sobriety. Ed Walsh is also active in the Rockers in Recovery program and brings his musicianship to our treatment center, skillfully demonstrating how creativity, passion, and fun go hand in hand with successful recovery from addiction. We are fortunate to have him on our staff.
Beau Allen, CEI
Director of Business Development
Beau’s personal journey in addiction began during his college years ending with him finding his way to treatment and in return sobriety, in 2013. Over the past eight years, Beau has worked in many different facets of the treatment industry including working as a behavioral health technician, in admissions, and community outreach. Today Beau continues to build relationships throughout the community and medical field to better help people struggling with addiction and mental health issues. As the Director of Business Development, Beau’s favorite part of his job is working with and meeting people; educating professionals and clients about substance abuse services that are offered so they can improve the quality of their life by making positive lifestyle changes. His goal is to assist those suffering from this disease and their families in any way he can.
Dr. Eddie Richardson, MD
Medical Director
Dr. Richardson is a board-certified family medicine doctor with a specialty in geriatrics and palliative medicine. He received his Doctor of Medicine from Morehouse School of Medicine located in Atlanta, Georgia. He completed his family medicine residency at The Medical Center in Columbus, GA.
In 2009, he completed his Fellowship of Geriatric and Palliative Medicine from the Medical Center of Central Georgia, located in Macon, Georgia. Dr. Richardson is a compassionate doctor who works closely with patients to help them receive optimum medical care.
Along with his responsibilities at Lake Oconee Urgent and Specialty Care, Dr. Richardson also serves as a hospitalist at a local hospital, Putnam General, and Hilton Head Memorial Hospital in South Carolina
Dr. Richardson has plenty of experience treating acute detox symptoms and those suffering from addiction in both an inpatient and outpatient setting.
Derek Snelson, CEI
Program Director
Derek is an experienced member of the team drawing on his clinical background in Psychology and having personal experiences in recovery, benefitting the patient population and the facility. Having completed his degree in Psychology at Temple University, Derek draws on a myriad of therapeutic modalities to serve our community. Additionally, Derek draws on administrative experiences at various start-up endeavors which are now thriving to ensure the efficiency and efficacy of the Retreat.

Shauntell Mann-Sellers, MS
Therapist
My name is Shauntell E. Mann, I have a Master’s Degree from Georgia College, and a undergraduate degree from Mercer University. I have 15 plus years combined experience in case management, behavioral therapy, substance abuse counseling, Aftercare through Spectrum, and lastly, as a therapist. Career History: I worked as a case manager for Faith Health Service for over 5 years, On the Path for Children w/ Behavioral Issues for over 1 year, Substance abuse counselor for Spectrum Health (Both men/women in a prison setting) for over 5 years, Aftercare for offenders-5 years, and currently, approaching my 1 year employment anniversary w/ the Retreat Of Atlanta. Throughout life, I have held many positions in the Social Science Field, overall my careers working at the Retreat has been the most rewarding. I love the employees, staff, and upper management, and most of all the patients.
Angela Nelson-Williams, RN
Director Of Nursing
Angela Nelson-Williams is our Assistant Director of Nursing here at the Retreat of Atlanta located in Eatonton Georgia. Angela is a lifelong resident of the community and comes with many resources to help the people we serve. Angela has a BS in Nursing, BS in Public Service/Human Services and a MS in Rehabilitation Counseling and Case Management. She is a Certified Case Manager and Certified Holistic Health and Wellness Coach. Angela’s came to us from the local nursing home here in Eatonton where she was the Assistant Director of Nursing. Prior to that she was employed as a Regional Nurse Manager for a Georgia Mobile Crisis Agency. Angela is a compassionate person who has a passion for helping people in crisis. With all this experience, training, and education, Angela makes an amazing addition to this team and touches the lives of everyone who comes through our doors. Her favorite scripture is Matthew 25:40-45.
Jillian Winkoff, CEI
Admissions Coordinator
Jillian comes to the retreat with years of both professional and personal experience in the world of addiction treatment. Jillian is currently enrolled in a BA program of psychology at Grand Canyon University and previously received her AA in psychology from Mira Costa College. In addition, Jillian holds certifications as a Registered Alcohol and Drug Technician, and an Event Interventionist. In her free time, you can find her hanging out with her rescue pup, or traveling on an adventure. She is passionate about helping others in their recovery journeys and excited to be a part of the team at The Retreat of Atlanta.
